Casting decisions often make or break a movie.
But so, too, do the decisions about who works behind the camera.
Director Joe Dante (“Gremlins”) was on the short list to direct the 1989 “Batman” movie but didn’t connect with the material. So Tim Burton stepped in, and the Batman franchise was reborn — until George Clooney put on the black rubber cowl.

When I saw Andy Dick’s mugshot today, my first thought was that he could be a good piece of creative casting as The Joker:

You know, given the right direction, Dick wouldn’t be a bad Joker at all … although the poor fellow might end up not living long enough for any director to consider him, what with his addictions…
