“The Dark Knight” didn’t just score big time in the U.S. The film’s international debut nearly tripled the box office returns from “Batman Begins,” according to Warner Bros.
“Knight” bowed in 20 countries including Australia, Mexico and Brazil, and grossed $41.3 million over the weekend.
The film will roll out in more international markets over the coming weeks, including Italy on July 23, Holland on July 24, the UK on July 25, Korea on August 7, Japan on August 9, Spain and France on August 13, and Germany on August 21.
