‘Britney Spears to play lesbian killer in Quentin Tarantino film,’ screams the headline of The Daily Telegraph.

When your eyes stop rolling, consider this. The film follows three strippers who, according to the story, are “thrill-seekers” who meet a couple in the desert.

Remember how awful Tarantino’s grrrl power dialogue was in “Death Proof?” Expect more of the same.

I’m all for great directors tapping their genre side now and then, but when is Tarantino gonna make another good film? His upcoming “Inglorious Bastards” could be a blast, but why won’t he try for something that doesn’t scream pulp?

UPDATE: This is fiction, according to Access Hollywood and MTV.com. Second time I’ve been burned linking to English papers. Won’t get fooled again.

UPDATE, Part Deux: (hat tip: Dirty Harry)Now, Variety is chiming in, saying the film project is in Tarantino’s head and Spears is a possible casting choice. Unless QT announces it or confirms it to a reliable reporter, color me skeptical.
