Will Ferrell in Semi Pro

Big movies stars don’t need to invest in the web for a career safety net. Or do they?

Will Ferrell did just that last year when he co-created - and began contributing to - funnyordie.com. The site has had tremendous success in a limited time, and that was before its brilliant faux campaign ad by Paris Hilton.

My latest story for The Washington Times recalls Ferrell’s initial reticence toward the project, as well as how it’s helping him solidify his star status and pop culture reach.

Ferrell’s a funny guy, and apparently he’s smarter than we thought.
