Terrence Howard’s career hasn’t played out as expected since his breakthrough role in “Hustle & Flow.”
The actor took on a flood of movies following the Oscar-winning film (Best Song, remember?), but I figured he’d be right alongside the Denzels and Forests at this point.
He even took on a small part in this summer’s “Iron Man,” although that might have been conditional on an expanded role in “Iron Man 2.”
That doesn’t diminish the impact of “Hustle & Flow,” a showcase for how a great performance can make you care about someone who you’d normally not give a damn about.
My Washington Times review shows how oddly patriotic “Flow” proved, though it’s hardly a movie any politician would embrace.
