‘Transsiberian’ – Hitchcock would be pleased

Who knew back in 1993 that Harrelson would be the breakout star from “Cheers?” I certainly couldn’t have predicted it.

But since Sam last closed the great TV bar for good, no other “Cheers” alum has turned in so much quality film work as Harrelson has.

(Give Kelsey Grammer credit for an even brighter career, but primarily on the small screen.)

Consider “Transsiberian” Harrelson’s latest solid film outing.

Some concepts never grow old – like zombies films and throwing strangers together on a long train ride.

“Transsiberian” takes the latter concept and spins a rigorously entertaining yard out of the shopworn gimmick. My Washington Times review describes the film’s can’t-miss plot – and applauds the film’s ability to build credible tension with smart direction and a terrific score.
