Better sink your teeth into this week’s new releases. The schedule is about to take a turn for the worse. Next week, two of the major film releases — “Disaster Movie” and “Babylon AD” – aren’t being screened for critics. Welcome to the late summer/early fall movie season.
For now, enjoy the nonstop violence of “Death Race” and the guilty pleasures found in “The House Bunny.” For another take on “Death Race,” check out Kyle Smith’s review. Kyle also checks in on “The Longshots,” the new film directed by Fred Durst. Yes, that Fred Durst.

Toto: Would you allow your pre-teen daughter to see this film?
Based just on the above pic, I certainly wouldn’t.
The pic is deceiving … to an extent. The movie initially celebrates the fact that the heroine teaches her new friends how to dress trampy. But they ultimately resist and fall back into their own style which is far more appropriate for a young woman.
