Dead on … lost in the partisan wrangling is just how fiercely talented Poehler is. She’s leaving the show for an NBC sitcom. I can’t imagine it will showcase her talents like SNL does each week.

And yeah, I’d have more respect for Maher if he occasionally slammed his fellow Lefties. That would be brave … and boy they serve up plenty of material, right?

You want “mean-spirited”, try listening to “comedian” Shill Maher’s increasingly tired rants about SP on his HBO show if you can; admittedly not easy to do, seeing as that show is an hour(!)-long diatribe toward all things liberal (notice how Maher won’t EVER lay the blame for the shameful S&L crisis where it belongs, but he’ll drill on G.W. and Palin until the end of time), as evidenced by its stacked panel of Hollywood elite types…P.S. with all the talk about Ms. Fey, its about time Amy P. got due credit for being the best, most entertaining performer SNL’s produced since the late, great Phil Hartman…

Saw that … not as mean-spirited as some of Fey’s past jibes.

Poehler remains a standout talent, and the bit was pretty funny. Wish they had given Palin more to do before, during or after it.

I’m sure that had nothing to do with personal politics though.
