Clint Eastwood works harder than anyone in Hollywood save Elizabeth Banks.
But ol’ Clint’s got 40-plus years on the lovely Banks.
For the second time in recent memory, Eastwood has two films hitting the marketplace nearly back to back. That’s not uncommon with actors, but Eastwood is behind the camera for both films – “Changeling” and “Gran Torino” – and he stars in the latter.
I wanna take a nap just reading that.
Met the acting/direction icon a few years back at an AFI event outside of D.C., and what struck me was how tall he seemed to me. He’s not a giant, but he stood as straight and true as a 20-something.
He’s in amazing shape, and while I still think “Million Dollar Baby” is the most overrated film of the past 20 years, Eastwood continues to create compelling, thoughtful art that’s a million miles removed from hits like “Every Which Way But Loose.”
No hard feelings, Clyde.
Here’s the trailer for “Gran Torino,” opening in December.

Clint totzlly rocks! A brilliant actor and inspiring director, and good looks to boot! I’m a thirty four year old woman but my god! He gives me butterflies! He is smart, sexy, softly spoken and a total gentleman and I find it nauseating that his ex wife wanted loads of money off him when they divorced! Were not the memories enough?! She is already rich!
You’re the best Clint, and that’s the truth!
*totally* !
While I like Eastwood, none of his more recent films have looked particularly interesting to me. I think the last one I saw was “Space Cowboys.” But I’ve got to say, “Grand Torino” looks pretty interesting. I may have to check it out.
Nick, Space Cowboys could stop even a Clint-aholic from watching any more of his films. Don’t hold it against him … and check out Mystic River
