Don’t believe what you read online (WWTW excluded)

This here Internet makes researching stories a breeze. Except when it throws you a big, ol’ curve ball.

Was reading up on Bill Pullman Friday in preparation for my chat with the hard-working actor. He received the John Cassavetes Award last night from the Starz Denver Film Festival, and I had a short window of time with him earlier in the day.

My Internet research told me he was working as a drama professor 20-plus years ago when his students convinced him to try his luck as an actor. Great story, right?

Except it wasn’t true.

Not the best way to start an interview.

The conversation improved from there, especially when Pullman told me about the intensity director David Lynch brought to the set of “Lost Highway.”

I’ll be posting my interview with Pullman first at Movies in Toto, and then right here at WWTW.
