Ice Cube is so gangsta he can star in two family-friendly films without losing his street cred.
But anyone who saw “Are We There Yet?” or its sequel, “Are We Done Yet?” wished he wasn’t so secure in his rap bona fides.
It’s why “The Longshots” is such a shot in the arm, showing Cube can work the family circuit without sacrificing his gritty appeal.
My Donne Tempo review shares my reserved admiration for the new-to-DVD film.

I have no problem with talented women who can make the team going out for boy’s sports teams. Just as long as girl’s teams also allow boys to try out for and make their teams.
That’s a great point … and if the best female golfer in the world can crack the men’s league, can’t a mediocre male golfer work the women’s circuit and clean up?
