Even Hollywood magic has its limits

Kate Winslet in The Reader

Hollywood’s dream factory can make Superman fly, Gollum grumble and the Death Star explode into a million bright pieces.

But it still can’t make an actor age in a convincing fashion.

Just saw “The Reader” in which Kate Winslet’s character is supposed to age roughly three decades.

But all they could do was throw a granny sweater and gray wig on her and make her skin a ghastly shade of pale. But she still looks like Kate Winslet.
