Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds,” the loose remake of the 1978 Italian war epic “The Inglorious Bastards,” is coming to theaters Aug. 21, 2009.

Pitt may be a tabloid darling, but he proved he could open an arthouse movie big with “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.” Let’s see what he can do with “Basterds.”

i have been waiting for this film for a long,long time and everything i have read on it makes it sound very epic. i hope it is good because when i heard news of the casting i thought there were some odd choices like Eli Roth in a supporting role and mike myers but i will reserve judgment until at least a trailer is released.
