The Pittsburgh Steelers completed their “six-pack” tonight, but movie fans also got a heaping helping of movie ads along with one heckuva game.
Some instant thoughts:
- “Year One” – The Jack Black/Michael Cera comedy didn’t make my must-see list. If you want a prehistoric-style comedy …
- “Land of the Lost” – Will Ferrell isn’t playing a sports figure! That counts for something, but I almost wish the movie would embrace the cheesy special effects of the source material. Now that would be subversive.
- “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” – More CGI work than “The Transformers?” What gives?
- “Transformers 2: Rise of the Fallen” – More of the same. It’s up to you if that’s a green light or warning sign.
- “Star Trek” – Have seen this footage before. Spock looks like … Spock. That’s about all I can glean from this fast-edited snippet. Can you really replace the chemistry between Shatner, Nimoy and Kelley?
