Willie Nelson and the ‘Red Shoe’ guru

Willie Nelson and the ‘Red Shoe’ guru

If you were gonna make a concert film featuring Willie Nelson and the country western combo Asleep at the Wheel, who would you hire?

Why, the man who gave us “Red Shoe Diaries,” of course.

Zalman King – producer of “9 1/2 Weeks” and “Red Shoe Diaries” – is in talks to film the upcoming 10-day concert tour.

The concerts will support “Willie & The Wheel,” a collection of classic western swing songs hand-picked by the late Jerry Wexler

Kim Basinger – call your agent.

9 and 1/2 weeks was one of those movies that changed the way I heard a song: that “I like bread and butter…” song with the blindfolded tasting session joins Res-ev-whar (I can’t spell reservoir, so I just sounded it out) Dogs and “Stuck in the Middle”. Wonder how I’ll think about “On the Road Again” after Zalman’s done with it?
