2 best roles I’ve seen him in were Tropic Thunder and Angels in the Outfield (small, SMALL role as outfielder).

Both were supporting roles.

He was also decent in AMISTAD but completely out-performed by Morgan Freeman and Anthony Hopkins (Of course, how can one NOT be out-acted by Morgan Freeman and Anthony Hopkins).

I go back and forth with McC … I liked him in all the films you mentioned save “We Are Marshall” — I thought that was a lousy performance. He may be the type of actor who rises or sinks to the level of the material. “Marshall” is such a gut wrenching true story … should have yielded a better movie.

I haven’t seen any of his romantic comedies, because frankly I think the genre stopped producing good movies after Notting Hill, so I gave up on it.

But I’ve been really impressed by his talent and charisma in other stuff- A Time to Kill, We Are Marshall, Frailty, Sahara, etc. I think alot of people can’t look past the romantic comedies and the Keanu-ness of his public image and see what a good actor he is.

Maybe McC is on the comeback trail … I still love checking out his web site. That reggae song sticks in my head every time.

It looks very good! Kind of a “The Family Man” meets “A Christmas Carol.” I can’t wait to see it.
