It’s easy being (faux) green

It’s easy being (faux) green

The only green celebrity I trust is Ed Begley, Jr.

The “St. Elsewhere” character actor walks the walk. It’s that simple.

Other celebrities … I’m skeptical until proven otherwise. And I’m usually right.

Take this weekend. A gaggle of film stars, including Tom Hanks, Leonardo DiCaprio, Rosario Dawson and “Entourage’s” Adrien Grenier will pull up to the Oscars in style – hybrid style, to be precise.

They’ll be trading in their stretch limos for 2010 Toyota Prius Hybrids and other alternative energy vehicles. It’s part of Econation green ground transportation, a company which offers chauffeured car services to big time clients.

It’s all well and good, although the smugness potential could be sky high. What grates me is the knowlege that the bulk of these celebrities use private jets and live in homes that suck up vast amounts of energy.

But for a nice photo op it’s pretty easy to go green. Just do the same when no one’s looking.

Like Ed.
