Nothing funny about this protest

Jerry Lewis may be huge in France, but Academy Award voters think differently.

Comedy rarely gets the respect it deserves, and Lewis’ brand of pratfalls never endeared itself to Oscar voters.

Come Sunday, Lewis will finally get his due – an honorary Oscar both for his years in the business and tireless efforts to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

But some people don’t want to see Lewis up on the Oscar podium. Check out my first piece for Human Events Online. I break down the protests and get to the heart of the matter. It isn’t pretty.
