Anyone heading to tonight’s midnight showing of “Watchmen?”
If so, let us what you think of the film — and describe the behavior of the fans flocking to the theaters. If the hardcore fans lap the movie up, it could mean “Watchmen” will outperform expectations.
If they hate it … better duck and cover.
Could make for some grand people watching.

Planning on seeing at midnight (I am a night owl, no pun intended, and would be awake anyway) with the free Movie Cash that was in the WATCHMAN: THE COMPLETE MOTION COMIC Blu-ray.
Midnight crowds are a a joy to be around. Whooping fanboys (or girls, as a midnight screening of the last HARRY POTTER film made clear) that hoot and cheer throughout, yet rarely cross into ruining the film since they take it pretty seriously. In fact, most of my favorite movie going experiences are with midnight crowds.
I second the motion, having done the midnight fanboy (and girl) dance card since LOTR.
I’ll try to post something coherent tomorrow.

i love going to midnight screenings but since i have to get up for work at 5am and the movie is almost 3 hours long i will not be attending the midnight showing i need more than 2 hours sleep. i will most likely go see it friday night though.
Saw it at the midnight screening and enjoyed it. Definitely a fanboy crowd (roughly 80%-85% filled, which is pretty good considering the fact that three other theaters, plus an IMAX, within 10-15 minutes drive were also showing it). It reportedly made $4.5 million at the midnight screenings, which suggests a huge opening weekend.
about 1/3 – 2/3 for my showings (I got in a double dose): mostly appreciative fanboy and fangirls. The post-film deconstruction and critiquing was the most fascinating (and intelligent, rather than droolling).
