Twilight” hits DVD this weekend – 12:01 a.m. Saturday, to be precise.
And the folks behind the movie are celebrating with a series of DVD release parties at a store near you.
Expect autograph merchandise raffles, contests and other surprises – including appearances by some of the actors from the movie at select locations.
Denverites can find the nearest “Twilight” bash at Borders on Northfield Blvd., Waldenbooks on E. First Ave. and two Walmart locations (West Colfax Ave. and Wadsworth Blvd.)
Fans can visit the movie’s official site for a full list of stores hosting parties.
The move is obviously geared at stoking DVD sales, but it’s also about securing the franchise. Look for the next “Twilight” feature, “New Moon,” later this year.

i like vampire films but the whole teen lovestory angle just ran fat for me and now that harry potter is wrapping up studios are clamoring for anything that appeals to that crowd. a friend of my wife’s went to the midnight sale and she is 28 so it appeals to various age groups
