Did you know …

  • “Alien” was director Ridley Scott’s second feature – his directorial debut came with the 1977 film “The Duellists.”
  • Walter Hill (“48 Hrs.”) was supposed to direct the movie, but eventually passed on the project.
  • H.R. Giger, who created the memorable monster in “Alien,” also desigend album covers for album Blondie, Emerson Lake & Palmer and Danzig.

I know I’m dating myself.. but when OMNI existed as an excellent science/science fiction magazine, they ran an article featuring H.R. Geiger, showing his renderings for Alien. Wish I still had it..

The Alien creature literally influenced every monster that came after it … either overtly or in subtle ways. Genius, as is the movie.
