Have a question about HDTVs?

April 16, 2009

This site is planning to quiz a home theater expert in the coming days about HDTV. As a consumer, I still have plenty of questions about the latest sets. So I thought I’d throw it open to WWTW visitors.

If you have any questions you’d like me to pose to the HDTV expert, please let me know. I’ll ask him or her directly.

What’s the deal with 1080p OLED TVs? Is there a legitimate picture improvement over 1080p plasmas (in which case I’m intrigued), or is the benefit solely that they’re “greener” (in which case: who cares)?

Is there some way to computationally blur out announcers and talk show host’s complection problems? It can be rather disgusting in HD.

The LED question is at the top of my list …

And yeah, HD isn’t pretty for everyone on the tube.

I thought plasma’s were always vulnerable to power surges, etc.

Maybe you could ask him how best to protect flat panels and HDTVs.

Good question, Ronco … keep ‘em coming, folks.

I’ll make this simple – should I buy plasma or LCD, because I’ve found a hell of a deal on a plasma and my credit card is burning a hole in my pocket.
