‘Whip It’ real good

Roller derby divas are overdue for a movie to call their own.

“Whip It,” the directorial debut of Drew Barrymore, is slated for an Oct. 9 release. The film follows a rebellious young beauty (Ellen Page) who signs up for the local roller derby squad.

The film co-stars Marcia Gay Harden, Jimmy Fallon and scene-stealer Kristen Wiig.

Hopefully it will have a character like Dick “Whoa Nelly!” Lane, who was the TV announcer when Roller Derby was big on local LA TV.

UGH! Ellen Page? Boo. She’s going to ruin one of my favorite things for me.

And I bet Page plays a smart, snarky character who talks low and fast.

Who says a 13-year-old alcoholic can’t make it big one day!? Drew Barrymore is proof that Lohan and other Hollywood starlets could get their lives and careers back on track if they just set their mind to it.
