On superheroes and cowardice

Once Mark Steyn opines on a subject, there’s often little else left to say on it.

This week Steyn dissects Hollywood’s obsession with superhero movies – and uncanny ability to avoid addressing the key enemy of our age. (hat tip: Ed Driscoll)

It’s dispiriting, to be sure, but Steyn’s writing is so pugnacious the reader is left feeling hopeful, or at least glad someone connected the dots on a troubling absence in modern movies.

I admire Stein, but I think he missed the boat on this one. Decades ago, Jules Feiffer had a take on superheros as fascists. A point which is more applicable now, in the age of Obama, than ever before.

K – if you have a link to that material I’d love to read it.
