Critics have feelings, too.
So when a WWTW review flies in the face of conventional critical wisdom it stings.
I still flinch when I read raves about “Wall*E,” a film which left me cold.
So I need to watch “Revolutionary Road” one more time … just in case. The film, coming June 2 on DVD, snagged a few Oscar nominations and some critical raves.
Even Mrs. WWTW dug it, and as she often says she’s rarely wrong …

Actually, Christian, you aren’t alone in not being awed by “Wall-E”. Honestly, I thought it was good, but not great. The animation style was attractive, but so what? Good animation really is a dime-a-dozen now. The challenge is story and storyline, and I felt that like so many environmental stories it become more about The Message than anything else.
I was actually pretty bowled over by “Rev Road.” Loved the performances, the sense of inner anguish and naive dreams, the beautiful cinematography. Then again, I might be the only right-winger who didn’t think it was totally vile!
