I have a question about doing movie reviews and didn’t know where else to ask it so I’ll put it to you here.
As much as I love movies I’m not always in the mood for one. If I’m in a bad mood it will color how and whether I may like a film or not.
You job is to be a critic, how can you judge a film fairly if you’re in a bad or sad mood or whatever other emotion? Surely it would color how you percieve the film and whether you’re able to judge it fairly.

Fair question. I must say as soon as I enter a movie theater I change a bit … I get a bit happier, the day’s events seem to slide by.
And if it’s a comedy (esp a good one) the change in mood might actually improve my review a bit.
That said, we’re all human and as taste makers in any capacity we’re susceptible to the whims of our state of mind.
Hope that makes sense.
