Visionary director Tim Burton is at it again.
The producer of “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and mind behind “Beetlejuice” has a new animated feature coming our way – the dark and mysterious “9.”
The film, co-produced by Burton and director Timur Bekmambetov (who gave us ’08’s guiltiest pleasure “Wanted”), has its own Facebook page so audiences can track the dawn of the story’s creation.
The film hits theaters – when else? – on Sept. 9. That’s 9/9/09.

Oh boy. I’ll be eagerly awaiting the gratuitous Christian bashing which is another of Burton’s hallmarks. I watched “Mars Attacks” again a while ago and noticed that it doesn’t wear well. It’s bitter core of cynicism is like finding a jolokia pepper at the center of your tootsie pop.
I’m looking forward to this flick. I like Burton’s work. Thanks for the update on this. I’m hoping for another classic like Nightmare Before Xmas. I’ve lost count how many times I’ve seen it.
I see that Burton & co. opted for the actual number in the title, as opposed to Rob Marshall, who likes his digits spelled out.
