About half an hour into that I realized that none of the NC-17 films I had seen came even <i>close</i> to matching "Crank 2's" hideous content. For years I've thought that the MPAA might as well scrap every rating except for G and R, because that's functionally how parents use the system already. I’m going to see “Bruno” tomorrow, but for me, NC-17 offically died with “Crank 2.” About half an hour into that I realized that none of the NC-17 films I had seen came even close to matching “Crank 2’s” hideous content.

The entire rationale behind the NC-17 has been destroyed by this film. As "This Film Is Not Yet Rated" showed, the NC-17 had its problems (though I would argue the far greater problem was the big chains refusing to carry movies slapped with that rating), but it's effectively dead now.
