Where’s the love for Anna Faris?

Comic actress Anna Faris is this generation’s Goldie Hawn, or as close as we’ll ever get.

But she still hasn’t found a great movie to call her own.

Hollywood may not realize just how good she is on screen. It seems like the folks behind “Observe and Report” feel that way.

The film hits DVD Sept. 22, but you won’t find Farris’s face on the cover. The DVD passes over the film’s movie poster for a composite shot of star Seth Rogen and some of his male co-stars.

Meanwhile, Farris turns in another crisp comic performance in the film, something the DVD cover should rightly acknowledge.

If you want to see Anna at her best, check out Smiley Face, a really good “stoner” comedy (for a change)…

Did you ever see “Just Friends”? It’s essentially an unwatchable piece of trash aiming squarely for those who think people who would even contemplate a Bergman film are feckless closet cases. Notably, it features Farris in a performance that was so enthusiastic and balls-to-the-wall that I felt sorry for her as it unfolded. “If this actress could get a decent script,” I thought, “she could kill.”

Virtually no filmmaker seems to know what to do with her because no writer has any clue: this culture has not configured the creative to produce edgy, intelligent, and humorous roles for women of any appearance or talent level.
