Too little time with George Hamilton

Not all celebrity interviews are created equal.

Spoke with actor George Hamilton earlier today in connection with the new film “My One and Only” – based on his life as a teenager.

He had plenty of great stories to share, and did so with a blend of humility and frankness. Great stuff, and I wish we could have talked much longer.

My latest Boxoffice.com story shares more about our conversation.

Spent the day with Goerge Hamilton in 1995; he was promoting his talk show with ex-wife Alana Hamilton Stewart, and it was my job to serve as his guide for the day. Absoluting charming at 6 a.m., when we presented him with a birthday cake at the end of a busy day, he insisted that people acknowledge my birthday (I had mentioned that mine was two days after his)…an incredibly charming, self-depricating man with talent that is not always obvious, but is real and substantial.

You should read his book. It’s fantastic – hilarious.
