Heidi September 14, 2009 at 8:59 pm: I think I am one of the only women left who hasn’t read this book. I tried, but Stephanie Meyer can’t write.

Recently I was in a group of six women and every one of them was a fan of the series. Each one openly admitted that SM can’t write, but they still love the storyline. I need to figure out that formula. It seems Meyer and Dan Brown have both figured out the magic formula for turning out major best-sellers, despite being unable to write well.

Paula September 15, 2009 at 5:45 pm: Heidi, you’re not the only woman who doesn’t get the popularity of Meyer’s books. I wouldn’t have liked this stuff even when I was a teenager.

I’d have to add John Grisham to the list of financially successful writers unburdened with talent.
Heidi September 15, 2009 at 6:47 pm: Good one Paula! I forgot about Grisham. Years ago, when I was a teen who wanted to be a lawyer I read him, but it seems the faster he tried to put out books, the worse they go. It was annoying when he started recycling the same plotlines.
