‘Paranormal Activity’ – First thoughts

Look for a full-blown review of the new sleeper horror film “Paranormal Activity” later today.

For now …

  • If you have any interest in the film – see it ASAP. The hype is building, theaters are selling out and you really don’t want to see it when the buzz overwhelms any sense of perspective.
  • It’s stunning that the single cam, found footage format can still be viable. It’s a sub genre with a very short shelf life … yet “PA” manages to wring new scares out of it all the same.
  • What a treat to see a horror movie where the crowd is whisper silent and hanging on every scene …
