An awful film that's so bad it's good, the years pass allowing people to reassess the movie, the move toward slick special effects which renders what we see in "Troll 2" all the more crude, etc. The doc does a good job of celebrating the film’s entertainment value — is a film entertains on some level, that’s an achievement, it says.

I agree. But it’s also a perfect storm working here. An awful film that’s so bad it’s good, the years pass allowing people to reassess the movie, the move toward slick special effects which renders what we see in “Troll 2″ all the more crude, etc.

If you get a chance to see it at a midnight show or something then that is the way to see it with an audience. I was at the showing in Chicago which I believe is in this doc. I don't think I'm in it unless in passing but the leading actors were there and it was so much fun. To say it's the worst film ever made is a misnomer of sorts. To me a horrible film is one that fails on the fundamental level which is to entertain. A film (no matter how serious) needs to be entertaining or it is a failure in my opinion. Troll 2 is not high art and is the epitome of what films shouldn't be on the technical level but in its awfulness it is entertaining. I can't wait to see this doc. For me it's easy to love the best cinema has to offer. However, it's special to celebrate it at its worst. Troll 2 is awesomely bad but in all the best ways possible.
