A good review of a very good film that builds upon a somewhat hackneyed story with exceptional (and oft-surprising, given the actors' past projects) performances.
I concur with Toto that the film should receive Academy Award nods (especially with the expansion, and in this film's case, another high-profile opportunity for the actually-quite-Conservative Industry to demonstrate how liberal it wants to appear), but more importantly, as Brydin notes, it should demonstrate that there can be a reason other than shallow escapism to enjoy film as an art form.

I was ready to be underwhelmed, Gory ... but the film lived up to its advanced billing. It's the one movie I can fully support when the Oscar predictions start piling up. I hope you dig it, too, when you see it. Let me know!
