DVD Stocking Stuffers: For the action addict in your life

Note: This is the first in a series of posts highlighting new DVD and Blu-ray releases which would make fine presents this holiday season:
Action junkies are easy to please when it comes time to gift shop. Pick a DVD or Blu-ray in which the violence is loud, extreme and nonstop, and just wait for the Thank You note to arrive.
So consider these new action-packed DVDs when you’re scouring store shelves for just the right stocking stuffer:
“Star Trek” – J.J. Abrams reboots the franchise, makes Kirk and Spock cool again and doubles down on the kinetic action. The first twenty minutes alone make this Enterprise worth your while.
“X-Men Origins: Wolverine” – Neither a misfire nor a classic, “Wolverine” works best as an action vehicle for hirsute star Hugh Jackman. Just remember to hit the mute button when the dialogue kicks in.
“Fight Club: 10th Anniversary Edition” – The first rule of this DVD re-release is not letting your friends know about the film’s big twist.
“Rocky: The Undisputed Blu-ray Collection” – Smirk all you want, but Stallone’s signature franchise has way more hits than misses. The aging Stallion capped the series beautifully with “Rocky Balboa,” one of the best film surprises in recent years.
“Natural Born Killers: Unrated Director’s Cut” (Blu-ray) – Director Oliver Stone serves up the action along with a great conversation starter about how violence in the media affects us all.
“Terminator 2: Skynet Edition (Blu-ray) – When you think action, one of the first films to pop into mind is this James Cameron epic. It simply doesn’t let up, and Robert Patrick delivers one of the best, least appreciated, villainous turns in memory.
