I'm interested in the NOES remake. I love the original. Actually, I love all of them. Yes. ALL of the sequels. I just think they're fun and some of them are inventive. I'm interested in the remake since it looks like it's being done with a serious tone which could be terrifying. However, and for the record I do NOT know if this is the case, something rubbed me wrong from the trailer. I hope they don't make Freddy out to be wrongly accused. If so I will say that ruins the whole character for me. If they do do that then mark me down as disappointed.

I think the film's generic title may be enough to kill it, K.

“Edge of Darkness,” the first starring role for Mel Gibson since 2003’s “The Singing Detective.”

Two remakes of old British mini-series in a row? Is Mel Gibson actively trying to end his career?

By the way, the original contains a sequence that is in such notoriously bad taste that I can't even describe it here. If you really want to know, go to the remake's IMDb page and scroll down to the message board section. You'll know what you are looking for when you find it.

“Darkness” casts Gibson as a cop investigating the death of his activist daughter.

Do you suppose he'll find out her death was caused by right wing capitalist war profiteering religious scum? I can hardly wait to find out.
