The last time Robert De Niro and Edward Norton teamed up, for the 2001 thriller “The Score,” they were joined by the mercurial acting great Marlon Brando.
But in the upcoming film “Stone,” the duo will have Milla Jovovich for company.
It’s a safe bet the trailer chatter won’t hit the same bullet points.
“Stone,” announced today by Overture Films, will be directed by John Curran (“The Painted Veil“) based on a script by Angus MacLachlan (“Junebug“). The film follows a convicted arsonist (Norton) who looks to manipulate a parole officer (De Niro) into a plan to secure his parole by placing his beautiful wife (Jovovich) in the lawman’s path.
“The Score” didn’t prove as iconic as its cast, but maybe the pair’s follow up will make amends.
It should be better than Jovovich’s “The Fourth Kind” at the very least.

I liked The Score. I agree it didn’t match with the talent involved but as a caper flick I think it’s entertaining.
Is Stone an entertainment film or a serious drama?
