Director McG – yes, that’s his name – promised to cement his status as a blockbuster auteur with “Terminator Salvation.”

Sure, the film’s built-in audience guaranteed box office clout, but fans missed Arnold and the franchise’s sense of humor.

But McG did deliver one exhilarating action sequence in the film, a frantic escape from a towering Terminator out to squash a few pesky humans.

Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington) dodges the massive Terminator countless times, including a scene atop a teetering bridge. It’s brilliantly choreographed, meshing real action with what must have been major CGI trickery.

We even get a pair of robotic motorcycles which give our heroes fits.

It all works, and even on a small screen the impact is visceral.
