Tim Allen returns to the big screen tomorrow on his own terms.
The “Home Improvement” star, whose checkered film career has hit highs (“Galaxy Quest”) and lows (“The Shaggy Dog”), is back with “Crazy on the Outside.”
The new comedy casts Allen, who also directs, as a man fresly sprung from prison trying to build a new life for himself. He’s helped initially by his sister (Sigourney Weaver) but is eager to reunite with an old flame (Julie Bowen) who may or may not be dead.
WWTW is on vacation – but still blogging – so I won’t have a review to share this weekend. So far, the folks at RottenTomatoes.com haven’t chimed in on the film.

Hm. He’s directing, there is a SEVENTEEN year difference between himself and the romantic co-star, and the plot outline reads like a sitcom pitch?
This does not bode well for critical, or comic, acclaim.
That’s only a slight age difference by Hollywood standards …
I’m rooting for Allen … I think there’s more to him than meets the eye. Hope I’m right, but I haven’t screened “Crazy” yet. Love me some Sigourney, though … she’s an undervalued comic actress.
