Just when you go out on a limb with a prediction you get a face full of “not so fast, pal.”
“Dear John,” the latest tear jerker from the mind of Nicholas Sparks, dethroned “Avatar” over the weekend to come in first at the box office.
Maybe audiences don’t mind crying in their popcorn if the people making them weep are as pretty as Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum.
On another note … Mel Gibson’s “Edge of Darkness” fell 59 percent from its first week and is slated to earn roughly $45 million in its theatrical run.
“Welcome back, Mel?” Hardly, even though WWTW is glad to see Gibson in front of a movie camera instead of being interviewed from a remote locale.
