—Overblown, over-wrought, disco-theatrical, borderline
camp.

The long rich and established Scorsese is TOOOO old to
be SOOOO enthralled with technique for its own sake.
Where’s the insight, maturity, depth and beyondness?

Alas —these Boomers NEVER seem to leave their
bedrooms behind them.

Some are rallying to the movie’s side, Beth. But I suspect it’s more out of affection for Scorsese than the movie they actually saw.

Very disappointed to hear it was a let-down… It had such promise.
