I have entered fanboy territory again.
Paltrow works; Johansson I fear is miscast (and too young) for her character
The Whiplash plot will be enhanced by its intertwining with the Congressional investigation subplot, weaving non-comic-book real-world plausibility into the story line as was done in “Iron Man.”
Rockwell’s replacement of the Bridges character in the antagonist role of professional competitor will work if it is understated; otherwise, too many villains in the same film = the disappointment that was the second “Spider-man” sequel and the disaster that was the the third sequel to the Burton “Batman.”
