Gimme that ol’ time religion – and some ammo, too

Something tells me this fact-based story will have plenty of fiction in it by the time it hits the big screen.

Lionsgate just acquired the rights to “Machine Gun Preacher,” a feature film project to star Gerard Butler in the title role.

Here’s the official synopsis:

After renouncing his outlaw ways, Sam Childers (Butler) embarks on a spiritual path, becoming a warrior for the desperate and helpless children in a war-torn country in Africa.

The film will be directed by Marc Forster (“Monsters Ball,” “Quantum of Solace”) and costar Michelle Monaghan, Michael Shannon and Kathy Baker.

You mean the “Quantom of Solace” that nuked all the goodwill built by “Casino Royale?”
