Some radio stations are getting a personal thank you from none other than Gwyneth Paltrow.
Huh?
The Oscar-winning actress’ latest role casts her as a Honkytonk crooner on the comeback trail in “Country Strong,” hitting theaters Jan. 7, 2011. And Paltrow sings her own songs for the film, including the title track.
My source tells me Paltrow has been calling various radio stations to thank them for putting her pipes on the air. One call in particular came in at 2:41 a.m., so clearly it wasn’t meant to get someone live on the other end.
“Hey, [name withheld], it’s Gwyneth Paltrow calling. How are you? Um, just calling to say thank you so much for adding my single, “Country Strong,’ from our movie to your station. We’re really excited about it. so thank you so so so much, and I hope you’re having a great day.”
I’m told those kind of “thank you’s” from musicians are pretty rare, and wouldn’t it be nice to get a message from a beautiful actress rather than a telemarketer?

THAT is too cool! All artists should be this appreciative and humble.
I’ve never been a fan of Gwyneth Paltrow – neither as an actress, nor of how she comes across as a person in the media. But this shows class.
