Top 5 Horrors: A Scream Queen speaks

Debbie D Scream QueenMy name is Debbie D. For those who know me and those who don’t, I am a well known Scream Queen/Independent movie actress who travels the states all year making independent movies.

I was asked by WWTW to list five of my favorite horror movies. I decided to jot down the five that affected me the most. I watched some as a child, while others I caught up with as an adult.

I was raised by strict Catholic parents but the TV set was not always monitored. I can’t seem to keep names or titles in my head that well, and I need the readers’ help to remember the first one on my list. Feel free to visit my official web site DebbieD.com.

  1. “???” – The actress and title have skipped me but the images remain: A B&W movie with a well-known actress, not of slim build, who killed bunnies in their cage when she once loved them. This women portrayed a disturbed individual. I remember being very upset that she killed the bunnies. If this rings a bell to anyone let me know.
  2. Baby Jane“- Another B&W movie pick and one I didn’t see until later in life. A really disturbing movie.
  3. The Exorcist” – This one stayed with me, but it didn’t seem to affect me as badly as others did.
  4. Jaws” – That movie was one that disturbed me for years. It didn’t have to be the ocean but any body of water was off limits for me. It seemed Jaws could go anywhere, and he was after me! I feel that I’m not alone with that one … I’m sure of it! Not to mention it ruined my summers swimming in my cousin’s quarry.
  5. Logan’s Run” – This 1976 film may not fall into the horror category for some, but it also affected my life for years. On one side you were alive, young and well, but if you crossed over too late you were dead or old and dying. That’s very scary to me.
