Far be it from a spindly movie blogger to pick a fight with Rocky Balboa.
But Sylvester Stallone’s Twitter feed took a conspiratorial turn this week on the dawn of the Nov. 2 elections.
I voted did you? Gotta get the Manchurian Candidate out of the drivers seat before were ALL soaring off a cliff into Oblivion … be smart.
WWTW often takes movie stars to task for their less than coherent political jabs. Usually, that means tweaking liberal actors and directors whose mouths ran faster than their brains.
But this site won’t ignore the few right-leaning celebrities who do the same. And, frankly, the Manchurian Candidate reference is beyond the pale – even if Stallone deserves props for using a classic movie reference.
It’s hard to make a political critique in 140 characters or less. But Stallone’s attempt at swaying his fan base to pull the “R” lever was a low blow.

Tweaking him deserved, but refreshing hearing something besides ad nauseum lib talking points from the F.A.G.s.
I agree … but I don’t want to cheer on actors who agree with my politics but do so in a clumsy manner.
I applaud any actor who can express him or herself in a coherent, logical way on matters – and use common sense regarding the venue chosen.
I hear ya, Christian. I typically just get a nice grin and move along minus the usual eye-roll from the Day-muhn and Baldwin lectures, er, comments.
Stallone has been a “fair weather patriot” in the past. When his career is on the line he can be much more, uh, pragmatic.
It’s fairly incoherent, to be sure. However, after reading John Cusack tweets for hours, Sly comes across quite well…….
