Leave Kevin Spacey alone!

Leave Kevin Spacey alone!

Sometimes I’m amazed actors are as nice to me on the phone and in person as they are.

Sure, WWTW is a nonthreatening sort, but just imagine the questions thrown at them by some of my peers. It’s enough to make an artist leery of any journalist.

Consider this give and take between Oscar winner Kevin Spacey and a reporter who clearly wants to be both inquisitor and focal point.

Not only does the Q&A violate the WWTW Golden Rule of Interviewing – doth not make the interview about you – it’s also intrusive.

I stopped my subscription to Esquire magazine years ago when it ran a front page story on the very same Kevin Spacey with a wink-wink take on his sexuality.

If Spacey wishes to keep his private life private – have at it. It’s none of my business, nor should it be anyone else’s. He’s not running for office. He’s not affecting our lives beyond a 2-hour block of entertainment of our choosing.

Leave him alone. And journalists should be ashamed of themselves for asking such probing questions.

“No one’s personal life is in the public interest. It’s gossip, bottom line. End of story.”

I’ve never like Kevin Spacey more!

Holy moly. That interview was a masterpiece of double-speak. “I’m not bullying or attacking you, now TELL ME ABOUT YOUR SEXUALITY, DAMMIT! TELL ME NOW!”

John: I thought he handled the interview in a very classy fashion.

cftoto: I agree!

I wonder if Mr. Sessums is taking note of the negative feedback?

He’d better listen up, because that kind of interviewing is unacceptable to anyone with a speck of decency.

Personally, Spacey’s politics seem to be left of me, but I like his acting a lot and think it is time to do the ol’ Hollywood Contact thing of yesteryear…NO ONE EVER TALKS ABOUT PERSONAL OR POLITICAL STUFF. Sorry for the caps…I am not shouting, just frustrated with some Hollywood types waxing poetic on subjects beyond their grasp and none of our knowledge.

Let’s stop coarsening the culture, darn it!(note my use of PG language).

Why is it that some people in the so called gay community think that hetrosexuals go around all day long discussing what it’s like to be hetrosexual? In the real world they don’t. In the media world, they do. Its sad that for some, their entire lives are defined by being gay and not being human.

I know a gay man who runs a successful business in my community. To look at him, talk with him, or see how he deals with others, you’d never know he was gay. And why should you? It’s not what defines him as a human being, but rather one aspect of his character. Why can’t these so called reporters (more like leeches) see this?

That was really a ridiculous interview by someone with an agenda that sure didn’t involve the movie. Kevin Sessum’s whole identity is about being gay, nothing else, and he can’t understand anyone else’s point of view about public versus private information. I agree with you Christian!
