Actor Aaron Eckhart doesn’t get dogged by tabloid reporters for good reason. He’s boring.
Or, that’s what the handsome star of “The Dark Knight” and “In the Company of Men” told WWTW during a recent trek to Denver to promote “Rabbit Hole.”
Eckhart’s new drama follows a couple dealing with the loss of their young son. It’s gripping material, and Eckhart’s performance should be sparking more Oscar buzz than it is.
My boxofficemagazine.com feature on Eckhart leads off this edition of WWTW around the Web. Please to enjoy.

Eckhart is fantastic. The one shame of “The Dark Knight” was Ledger taking away the limelight from what Eckart and Gary Oldman did in the movie. People forget how great the performances were all around. I knew what was going to happen to Harvey Dent the whole movie, yet it still hurt when it happened. Credit for that goes to Eckhart.
He really is an underrated actor – his resume and talent make him an A-list contender. Yet maybe he’ll have a richer, more fulfilling screen career by avoiding the highest levels of fame.
Eckhart’s a fantastic actor (anyone who doubts that should check out Thank You For Smoking), and has always come off as a really down-to-earth guy. I remember seeing an Entertainment Weekly photo spread of different actors. Most of the photos looked like artsy glamor shots, but Eckhart’s picture was just him sitting in front of the laundry machines in his home.
I completely agree – Ekhart was fabulous in thank you for smoking. No one can make a jerk as appealing as him.
And like Bale, he resists most of the fawning entertainment media. The only interview of him that I’ve read was in Outside magazine, and it was focused solely on his favorite outdoors activities.
I love Eckhart so much I am willing to forgive him for that atrocious romcom he made with Jen Aniston. Wooden acting, and all.
