Anyone worried about the new Superman reboot going squishy has to feel pretty good today.
Warner Bros. just released the first picture of actor Henry Cavill in full Superman regalia, and it’s clear this isn’t your daddy’s superhero. Cavill looks like he’s ready to take on an army of Lex Luthors and a Nuclear Man, for good measure.
Director Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel,” co-starring Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Michael Shannon, Julia Ormond and Russell Crowe, hits theaters June 14, 2013.
Yes, it’s only one publicity still … but what do you think of our new Superman so far?

As a commenter on BigHollywood already mentioned, masculinity is an attitude, not an appearance.
But, taking this pic and the true masculinity of the heroes in ‘300,’ this is cause for optimism.
It’s just one pic, but it really does leave a mark. But the thing to remember is the film is nearly two years away. Stoking geek fires so soon may backfire. I’m kinda hoping this is all we see of the film for a while.
It’s certainly more encouraging then the publicity shot released for the new Spider-Man movie. That looked like an emo kid playing dress-up for Halloween. This looks like a bonafide hero in action.
I’m very pleased with this.
Yeah, this’ll definitely work.
that’s what I get for being a joker, I meant…When was Russell Crowe cast…
Brando – Crowe will play Superman’s biological pappy, a la Marlon B. The news came out a few weeks back. Seems every other day there’s a new cast addition to the project. The latest added Fishburne into the mix as Perry White. Smart.
touche…I thought you meant Kevin Costner
