Can’t crack a sports section lately without seeing Alex Rodriguez’s contrite face staring back at you.

And if you read the New York tabloids, the picture usually comes along with a snarky headline like “A-Fraud,” “A-Roid” or even “A-hole.”

Only in New York.

If you want to dig beyond the headlines, check out last year’s “Bigger, Stronger, Faster.” The documentary, available now on DVD, offers one of the more original takes on the steroid crisis you’ll ever see.

It’s got a Michael Moore quality to it — the director inserts himself into the narrative — but don’t let that scare you off.
